Bei der Biodiversitätskonferenz COP15 beginnt jetzt die entscheidende Phase. Bisher gibt es allerdings kaum Fortschritte. Und jetzt steht auch der Schutz von Naturflächen auf der Kippe, die zentral sind für CO2-Aufnahme und Klimaschutz.

Ursprünglich sollte ein Klimaclub seinen Mitgliedsländern helfen, Klimaschutz über koordinierte CO2-Preise voranzutreiben. Der jüngst von den G7 gegründete Klimaclub hat damit nicht mehr viel zu tun. Trotzdem kann er positive Wirkung entfalten - falls es gelingt, ihn klug weiterzuentwickeln.

In einem internen Bericht räumt jetzt auch das Wirtschaftsministerium ein, dass die in Deutschland geplanten LNG-Terminals zu Überkapazitäten führen werden. Der Haushaltsausschuss hat bereits die Gelder für eins der Terminals gesperrt, und das Ministerium glaubt nicht mehr an das geplante Terminal in Hamburg.
