Europe’s strategy against high energy prices

The EU Commission has presented options on how member states can counter high energy prices. These emergency measures are to be discussed at the EU summit on Thursday and Friday. The Commission also presented its proposal for minimum gas storage volumes in the EU.

In order to cushion high energy prices, the EU Commission on Wednesday outlined possible emergency measures, which it, however, associates with high costs and further disadvantages. The options are not binding and are to be discussed at the EU summit this week.
