Er ist seit August 2022 Mitglied der Europe.Table-Redaktion. 2016 bis 2021 war er EU-Korrespondent der Stuttgarter Zeitung und davor 16 Jahre wirtschaftspolitischer Korrespondent für Stuttgarter Nachrichten und Kölnische Rundschau in Berlin.
Jeder der Staats- und Regierungschef aus den 27 Mitgliedstaaten wird einmal eingeladen, seine Zukunftspläne für die EU im Europaparlament zu präsentieren. Am Europatag war Kanzler Olaf Scholz an der Reihe. In der anschließenden Debatte wurde er für Mutlosigkeit und fehlende Initiativen kritisiert.

Up to now, the internal market has been fragmented when it comes to patents. The Commission now wants to change that. This should defuse the bitter conflicts over standard-essential patents that have been going on for years. In times of crisis, the Commission wants to be able to create compulsory licenses valid throughout the EU.
