The Environment Council has agreed on a general approach to the proposal for a Nature Restoration Law. However, the adoption of a compromise in the European Parliament on the now highly political text remains uncertain – because the EPP wants to continue rejecting the text.

Der Umweltrat hat sich auf eine allgemeine Ausrichtung zum Vorschlag für ein Gesetz zur Wiederherstellung der Natur geeinigt. Die Annahme eines Kompromisses im Europäischen Parlament zu dem mittlerweile hochpolitischen Text bleibt jedoch ungewiss. Denn die EVP will den Text weiter ablehnen.

Mit großer Spannung war das Votum im Umweltausschuss des EU-Parlaments zum Renaturierungsgesetz erwartet worden. Aus Zeitgründen musste die finale Abstimmung dann aber auf den 27. Juni verschoben werden. Eine vollständige Ablehnung des Vorschlags, wie von der EVP gefordert, bekam jedoch keine Mehrheit. Jetzt sind die Mitgliedstaaten am Zug.

The vote on the Nature Restoration Law in the European Parliament's Environment Committee (ENVI) was eagerly anticipated. Due to time constraints, the final vote had to be postponed until June 27. However, a complete rejection of the proposal, as demanded by the EPP, did not receive a majority. Now, it's up to the member states to take action.
