Almut Siefert lebt und arbeitet in Rom. Nach dem Studium der Politikwissenschaften in Frankfurt hat sie ihr Volontariat bei den Stuttgarter Nachrichten absolviert. Danach war sie dort als Politik-Redakteurin, von 2016 bis 2020 als Italien-Korrespondentin und im Anschluss als Verantwortliche für die Seiten eins und drei tätig. 2022 wechselte sie als Teamleiterin für die Auslandsberichterstattung zu ZEIT Online nach Berlin. Im Sommer 2023 hat sie sich selbstständig gemacht und ist in ihre Herzens-Stadt Rom zurückgekehrt, von wo sie nun als freie Journalistin über Italien berichtet.
