The revision of the EU's LULUCF Regulation (Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry) aims to set binding targets for natural CO2 storage for the first time. On Wednesday, the European Parliament voted on its position but fell short of the ambitions of the Environment Committee. After weeks of negotiations, the EU Parliament was supposed to vote on its position on the reform of the European Emissions Trading Scheme yesterday. However, the report was rejected and referred back to the committee that will now have to find new compromises and more solid majorities.
