Analyse

'We question the behavior of our ancestors'

In provenance research, we not only reconstruct the paths of art but also question the behavior of our ancestors and reevaluate patterns of action. This can lead to the deconstruction of previous heroes of collection history, both in museums and private collections. While this may be painful, it should not distract us from recognizing Germany's colonial entanglements. This is a response to Renata Franke's Opinion.
