Seit Mai 2021 gilt die EU-Medizinprodukte-Verordnung (Medical Device Regulation). Ziel der MDR ist es, die Anforderungen an Medizinprodukte europaweit zu harmonisieren und ihre Sicherheit zu erhöhen. Dieses Ziel teile die MedTech-Branche voll und ganz, sagt Marc Pierre Möll vom Bundesverband Medizintechnologie (BVMed). Das System sei jedoch noch nicht praxistauglich.
