Lili Fuhr

In her work, Lili Fuhr operates at the interface between human rights, climate protection and democracy. She is Director of the Fossil Economy Program of the environmental rights organization CIEL and also monitors the petrochemical industry in her role. Court rulings such as those of the International Court of Justice play an important role in her work. Together with her team, Fuhr is fighting for an economic system that meets the challenges of the climate, environmental and biodiversity crisis – and also against "bogus solutions and false paths" such as CCS. She is a member of the steering committee of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative. Before joining CIEL, Fuhr, a geographer and political scientist, headed the International Environmental Policy Department at the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
