Nachdem die EU-Kommission in ihrer Klima-Taxonomie Gas und Atom trotz starkem Widerstand als unter Umständen „grüne“ Investitionen eingestuft hat, zeichnet sich der nächste Streit ab. Dabei geht es um die „soziale“ Taxonomie. Sie soll soziale Mindeststandards des Finanzklassifizierungssystems festlegen, etwa ethische Lieferketten und menschenwürdige Arbeitsbedingungen. Mit Beginn des Krieges in der Ukraine ist ein Wirtschaftszweig nun besonders brisant: die Rüstungsindustrie.

After the EU Commission classified gas and nuclear as "green" investments in its climate taxonomy despite strong opposition, the next dispute is looming. This is about the "social" taxonomy. It is supposed to define minimum social standards of the financial classification system, such as ethical supply chains and decent working conditions.
