Schröder is also a professor of political science specializing in peace and security policy. Her academic career has taken her from Humboldt University and Freie Universität Berlin to the University of Wales in Aberystwyth and a doctorate at the European University Institute in Florence. In her research, she deals with the challenges of multiple crises, such as climate change, security and democratic order, and examines how peace and secure order can be shaped in Europe and globally. Because of Russia’s war against Ukraine, she is also a sought-after expert in the mass media for analyzing this conflict.
