With the Commission's proposal for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), Riso has turned the agricultural lobby, the regions and the EU Parliament against the Commission. The 49-year-old Frenchwoman is undoubtedly prepared for difficult negotiations. From 2016 to 2019, she assisted Michel Barnier in the Brexit negotiations, after which she joined the Commission President's team as Deputy Head of Cabinet until 2023.
