At Siemens, Busch is driving forward key future topics such as digitalization, Industry 4.0 and sustainability with a global approach. In China, he relies on local partnerships, local research and strategic anchoring in the high-tech sector. A physicist by training, he has been CEO of Siemens since 2021. In the same year, he was elected chair of the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA) after his predecessor Joe Kaeser stepped down. For the APA leadership role, Busch also draws on his Asia expertise from the noughties. At that time, he managed the Asia-Pacific business of Siemens VDO Automotive in Shanghai, which has since been sold. Busch began his career at Siemens in 1994 and has since held numerous positions, including in corporate strategy, the infrastructure segment and the technology sector.
