Mia Mottley

Mia Mottley is the brains and driving force behind the "Bridgetown Initiative" to reform international development and climate finance. The goal: to mobilize trillions of US dollars for the expansion of renewable energies, climate adaptation and the repair of losses and damage to poorer countries – for example through debt relief, new international taxes and levies, international CO₂ prices, more bilateral and multilateral financing and the transfer of IMF special drawing rights. Mottley is said to have ambitions to succeed UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
