Klaus Mühlhahn was President of Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen and held the Chair of Modern China Studies. Mühlhahn is considered one of the most renowned sinologists in Germany. He completed his studies and doctorate in sinology at the FU Berlin. His research took him to Berkeley, Turku and Indiana before he returned to the FU Berlin as Professor of Chinese History and Culture. He was then appointed to the ZU in 2020, before returning to the FU in 2025.
