Johannes Volkmann

Volkmann focuses on the former government's China strategy and criticizes the fact that it contains "five meaningless paragraphs on the diversification of supply chains on 64 pages". He advocates a differentiated China policy that combines economic cooperation and security interests. Volkmann calls for a clear and coherent strategy from the German government and sees China as a systemic rival without neglecting dialog. In the Bundestag, he is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development. He studied sinology with stays abroad at Tongji University in Shanghai and Peking University. The 28-year-old then completed a Master's degree at Oxford.
