Gabriele Bischoff

An advocate of a federal Europe, she promotes this idea as Vice President of the non-partisan Europa-Union. She has been a member of the European Parliament for the Socialists and Democrats since 2019 and is responsible for social issues and responses to the housing crisis. After studying politics, she embarked on a career as a trade unionist, initially at the German union IG Metall and later at the German trade union federation DGB, whose European department she headed for six years. In 2014, Bischoff became President of the Workers’ Group of the European Economic and Social Committee.
