The electrical engineer advocates an objective debate on the energy transition instead of fake news. For this, Bruno Burger, Senior Scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg, was awarded the “Golden Tree” by the Foundation for Ecology and Democracy in September. Burger has been dedicated to renewable energies for 40 years. With two solar modules, he made his student room independent of traditional electricity suppliers back in 1988. With his “Energy Charts,” Burger has now created the most comprehensive platform for energy data in Europe. It is accessed millions of times a day by scientists, students, the media and consumers.
