March 1, 2023, Taoyuan, Taiwan: Dozens of Chiang Kai-shek statues are displayed at the Cihu Memorial Sculpture Garden near Taoyuan, Taiwan. During the ongoing process of removing 43,000 monuments from public places in Taiwan, 200 of them were placed in a park near the Chiang Kai-shek Mausoleum in Cihu. It is estimated that despite the ongoing removal of monuments for more than 20 years, nearly 2,000 statues still remain in various locations around the island.
