Elisa Morgera: 'Expanding the production of fossil fuels is no longer legally acceptable'

The ICJ opinion on climate provides clarity, even if it is not legally binding, says Elisa Morgera, UN Special Rapporteur on Climate and Human Rights. States must remedy the climate damage they have caused and pay compensation. "Governments owe the public much more protection from the climate crisis."
