Influence of third countries: Committee backs national transparency registers

The Internal Market Committee in the European Parliament supports the Commission’s proposal against outside influence. Member states are to set up a transparency register for organizations that receive funding from third countries.

NGO funding: Commission criticizes 28 agreements

After the European Parliament criticized some funding of non-governmental organizations, the Commission has reviewed all agreements with NGOs for violations of the guidelines. Twenty-eight NGOs from the Life program were asked to agree to changes – but to no avail.
