Apple has to pay EUR 500 million because the company restricts developers' customer contact. Meta has to pay a fine because it does not give users a good way to protect themselves from personalized advertising. The amount of the fines is far below the limits set by the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

EU Social Climate Fund: Germany may miss deadline for applications.

The EU countries still have a good two months to send their plans to Brussels as to what they intend to do with the money from the Social Climate Fund. Germany, like other member states, will hardly be able to meet this deadline. This could have problematic consequences for the planned climate money.

But approving it as a building material takes time and money. It is therefore likely to be some time before the material can be used on a large scale.
