IEA: How renewables have reduced dependence on fossil fuel imports worldwide

Wind and solar energy reduce the need to buy gas, oil and coal worldwide, according to an analysis by the IEA. Between 2010 and 2023, the spending of more than USD 1.3 trillion on fossil fuel imports was avoided.
