Taxonomy appeal rejected: Lawsuits announced

Yesterday, Parliament approved the inclusion of gas and nuclear power in the taxonomy. Investors are now facing legal uncertainty for the time being: Austria has already prepared a lawsuit against the legal act, and members of parliament and environmental associations also want to take legal action.

EPP divided over taxonomy vote

Today, MEPs from almost all political groups want to prevent gas and nuclear power from being classified as sustainable according to EU taxonomy. Whether the objection to the Commission's proposal will succeed was in the hands of the EPP until the very end. Their internal vote this evening has provided clarity.

Mining: green and social?

The mining sector will also likely be included in the EU taxonomy and thus declared sustainable. This would strengthen European raw material production and force them to adopt higher environmental and social standards. But environmental associations are skeptical.
