Australia's NDC: 62–70% greenhouse gas reduction planned

Australia has presented its new NDC. However, not everyone is enthusiastic about the Canberra government's plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by only up to 70% by 2035.

Environmental Council: NDC will be between 66.25% and 72.5%

The final decision on the EU nationally determined contribution will not be made until after the summit of EU heads of state and government in October. On Thursday, the environment ministers only agreed on a statement of intent on the EU NDC for 2035.

Vatican: New NDC and own climate conference

The Papal States wants to reduce its emissions by 28% by 2035 and preach climate protection. At the beginning of October, a special conference hosted by Pope Leo XIV will debate the consequences of the encyclical "Laudato Si."

Environmental Council: Only a declaration of intent on the NDC planned

Following the postponement of the EU's 2040 climate target, the European environment ministers will also postpone the NDC, which is important for the COP30. However, the declaration of intent could already define a target range for the European contribution.
