Climate Policy

April 27, 2023, Vilanova de Sau, Spain: An old boat on the dry land is seen at the Sau water reservoir. The water resevoir, one of the main sources of water of the spanish region of Catalonia and in particular for the city of Barcelona, is now at 6% capacity according to Catalan Water Agency data, while the water reservoirs of the region are at 27% capacity, which has forced local governement to take measures against the water shortage, as Spain has entered a period of chronic drought. The record low level has made resurface the town of Sant Romà with its iconic bell tower, which was flooded in the 60s when the dam was built.
