Ukraine: Putin sends FSB man to Riyadh, Europeans meet in Paris.

Further talks are to begin today, Monday, in Riyadh in the US' attempts to mediate between Russia and Ukraine. For the first time, representatives of both parties to the conflict are to be present. Moscow is dispensing with top diplomats, but is sending a special FSB representative.

Meeting in Tokyo: focus on trade and tensions.

Top diplomats from China, Japan and South Korea met in Tokyo on Saturday to find joint solutions to security and economic issues in the face of global uncertainties. Despite tensions on key issues such as North Korea and Taiwan, the three countries agreed to accelerate a trilateral summit and intensify cooperation, particularly regarding demographic challenges and free trade.
