Climate target 2040: European elections come at an inopportune time

Brussels will soon be switching to election campaigning. But before then, the EU Commission still has one major climate policy project to tackle: the climate target for 2040. Adopting and implementing it will be the task of the next Parliament. And it is likely to tick differently than the current one.
