Climate target 2045: What the new government must do to meet it

According to official figures, the traffic light coalition has a positive climate balance: The statutory emission reductions of 65% will probably be achieved by 2030. However, for the 2040 and 2045 targets, a new government will have to make a lot of changes, especially in the areas of transport and buildings.

Exploratory paper: CDU and SPD leave these gaps in climate policy.

As in the election campaign, the exploratory talks do not devote any separate capital to climate action. Although measures to achieve the climate targets are noted in the "Economy" topic area, the goal of climate neutrality by 2045 and a uniform strategy for achieving the target are missing. Environmental associations rate the plans as inadequate.
