What a Chancellor Merz would stand for in European policy

Even though Friedrich Merz recently called for closed borders with neighboring countries, he has Europe firmly in his sights. The EU should become stronger in economic and defense terms. For the time being, he is not categorically rejecting more funding from Germany for this purpose.
