Europe wants to capture up to 41 million tons of fossil fuel emissions

According to an internal analysis, Europe plans to capture millions of tons of CO2 from fossil fuel power plants every year in order to become climate-neutral. CCS will also be used in the energy sector to achieve the EU's 2040 climate target.
