Biography: China, a blank page in Merkel's memories

During her time in office as German Chancellor from 2005 to 2021, Angela Merkel visited the People's Republic twelve times, traveling not only to Beijing, but all over the country. However, her biography hardly mentions anything about these experiences. Johnny Erling, who witnessed Merkel's trips as Beijing correspondent, tries to fill in some of the gaps.
