Logistics: Ships and trains enable car export boom

Just last year, Chinese manufacturers were unable to export one million vehicles abroad due to a lack of transportation options by water and rail. This has recently changed: China is becoming the world's leader in car exports.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Commerce, from January to April 2023, China exported 1.494 million vehicles, an increase of 76.5% year-on-year. Among them, China exported 420,000 vehicles in April, a record high. Since 2021, China s automobile exports have shown explosive growth. In 2021 and 2022, the increase of automobile exports will be more than 1 million units for two consecutive years.
