EU-US trade deal: Implementation officially suspended

As already announced by three parliamentary group leaders, the European Parliament has formally suspended the agreement on tariffs with the US. In a few days, the EU Parliament’s Trade Committee will also discuss measures under the Anti-Coercion Instrument.

Greenland: António Costa convenes extraordinary EU summit

Following Donald Trump’s threats of fresh tariffs to pressure the EU into accepting a US annexation of Greenland, member states are considering how to respond. An extraordinary EU summit has been convened for Thursday evening; retaliatory tariffs would be possible from February.
