Omnibus Sustainability: What happens after defeat in the European Parliament

Jörgen Warborn is the rapporteur for the Sustainability Omnibus, Parliament President Roberta Metsola has to explain to the heads of state and government at the EU summit that the Parliament still needs time. (European Union 2025)

A narrow majority of 318 to 309 MEPs rejected the compromise from the Legal Affairs Committee. This means that the European Parliament will have to vote again in November. And the trilogue cannot start yet.
