Protected status of the wolf: EU ambassadors approve Commission's initiative

The German EU ambassador voted in favor of the Commission's proposal to lower the international protection status of the wolf. This resulted in the necessary qualified majority. In future, the wolf will no longer be considered a "strictly protected" species, but a "protected" species.
