Fall 2025 forecast: German economy to grow just below EU average in 2026

At 1.2%, Germany’s GDP growth in 2026 will be slightly lower than the EU average. At the same time, the Commission forecasts that Germany will exceed the contractual EU deficit limit of three percent this year and in the next two years.
