Controversial coalition: Lithuania's social democrats want to contain populists

After the Lithuanian Social Democrats announced they would make the nationalists and populists of Nemunas' Dawn Party their coalition partner, they are trying to signal reliability to their European partners. At least the personnel decisions in the area of foreign and security policy provide some relief.
