On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Christian Democratic party family EPP will meet for its congress in Valencia. The party reform will be voted on, and a new party leadership will be elected. EPP leader Manfred Weber does not have to reckon with an opposing candidate.

DMA: Cautious Commission imposes first fines against Apple and Meta.

Apple has to pay EUR 500 million because the company restricts developers' customer contact. Meta has to pay a fine because it does not give users a good way to protect themselves from personalized advertising. The amount of the fines is far below the limits set by the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

Germany, like other member states, will hardly be able to meet this deadline. This could have problematic consequences for the planned climate money.
