Retail: Why Hungary is becoming increasingly unattractive for foreign companies

The situation for foreign food retail groups in Hungary continues to worsen. The government not only wants to levy a controversial special tax beyond 2024, but also impose an additional levy on foreign companies. While the Austrian supermarket chain Spar is seeking an open confrontation, German retailers are keeping a low profile.
