Heat-related deaths: 16,500 cases due to climate change in Europe

The actual number of heat-related deaths is likely to be even higher, as the majority of heat-related deaths are traditionally not reported.

Heat is one of the deadliest consequences of global warming: Two-thirds of heat-related deaths in cities in summer are due to climate change, according to a rapid study. The risk is particularly high in Europe.
