Santa Marta: How climate science supports plans to phase out fossil fuels

Just before political talks on phasing out fossil fuels begin in Santa Marta, climate researchers are presenting proposals to accelerate the transition. They offer practical advice for countries committed to phasing out fossil fuels.

In La Guajira, towering wind turbines generate power for distant cities, while local Wayuu communities still walk for water and study by candlelight. For them, the wind is sacred - now claimed in the name of progress, often without their voice.
