In 2024, Beijing was accused of "window dressing" when it mediated between rival Palestinian groups but failed to implement the agreed declaration.

China likes to present itself as a reliable partner in international conflicts. Critics, however, accuse Beijing of “window dressing” so as not to jeopardize its own economic interests.
