Study sees hardly any dependencies

Politicians and businesses are currently intensely discussing how to reduce economic dependence on China. A new study has come to the surprising conclusion: This dependence is not as high as believed.

EU discusses ways toward a common China policy

The EU is continuing to look for a united approach to dealing with the People's Republic. This became clear during a general debate on China policy in the European Parliament. MEPs criticized EU Commission President von der Leyen's visit with French President Macron. Macron's behavior in particular did not go down well in Strasbourg.

Lula turns his back on the West in Beijing

His predecessor Bolsonaro got along well with Donald Trump and showed reservations toward China. But Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has a different plan for his country and is courting the leadership in Beijing. Xi Jinping thanks him with much pomp and calls him a "good old friend" in Beijing.
