China courting Central Asia with energy

The geopolitical shifts since the start of the war against Ukraine are also felt in Central Asia. In the "Stans", five Central Asian countries, China is capitalizing on Moscow's weakening grip to bring the former Soviet states under its influence. Beijing has recognized the region's urgent need: energy.
