Greenland: How much deterrence would a NATO surveillance mission offer?

Following failed attempts at mediation in Washington, several NATO states are increasing their military presence in Greenland. The “Operation Arctic Endurance” exercise is intended to explore conditions for securing the region, although the effectiveness of pure surveillance missions remains unclear.
