
Relations with Turkey are at a low point. President Erdoğan's re-election is unlikely to change much for the time being – despite many fine words from Brussels. Only EPP leader Weber speaks plainly.

In the runoff election for the presidency in Turkey, climate policy will also be voted on. The incumbent, Erdogan, is backing fossil fuels. The opposition has more ambitious climate plans and wants, for example, to phase out coal and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
