Romania: EPP calls on Social Democrats to support pro-European candidate.

Romania's interim head of state, Ilie Bolojan, has appointed Catalin Predoiu (PNL), the former Minister of the Interior, as acting Prime Minister. The EPP Group is calling on Romania's Social Democrats (PSD) to come out clearly in favor of the pro-European candidate ahead of the run-off vote.

Poland is facing a trend-setting decision. Either they entrust Donald Tusk with all the power and elect the candidate of the liberal Civic Platform as the successor to President Andrzej Duda. Or they opt for the candidate of the conservative PiS party and thus for a continuation of the rivalry at the head of state.
