Second year of China's emissions trading

The European emissions trading system started back in 2005, but the establishment of comparable systems in other countries is important for achieving global climate targets. China plays a central role in this: According to the IEA, Chinese power plants accounted for more than half of coal-fired power plant emissions in 2021.
