Leaders’ Summit: Reminders, cohesion and surprising demands

On the first day of the Leaders’ Summit ahead of COP30, heads of state emphasized their willingness to cooperate. In addition to the usual appeals and slogans, some of the demands at COP could still generate action, such as a phase-out of fossil fuels or a methane agreement.
